Amazon Donates Kindles To Wounded Warriors for Veteran's Day

Amazon donated 2,000 Kindles to wounded warriors across the country, in celebration of Veteran's Day. They kicked off the giveaway by meeting with injured service members at the Operation Homefront Village in Oceanside, CA and giving each a Kindle to enjoy.

We are honored to join with Amazon in providing such a useful tool for wounded warriors. Amazon will also be donating Kindles to wounded warriors at Operation Homefront Villages in Gaithersburg, Maryland and San Antonio, Texas.

Operation Homefront Villages give injured veterans recently discharged from service a place to live, emotional support, and help with finding employment. The facility in Oceanside serves vets from Balboa Hospital and Camp Pendleton.

(Pictured speaking to guests) Kathleen Carroll, Amazon Recruiting Manager, leads the company's military recruiting program. She was a Marine Corps logistics officer from 2001-2010; held billets like platoon commander, company commander and operations officer; deployed to Iraq during the invasion as a landing support platoon commander and is married over 10 years to a Marine (no such thing as 'former') with 3 kids born aboard Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital.
