Several laws in the United
States are designed to protect service people called to duty, and their
families. In addition, the Internal Revenue
Service and the State of Illinois have made allowances in various
rules and laws
to ease immediate responsibilities for service personnel called to
duty.
The goal of these provisions is to prevent financial and
other hardship that might result from active duty in the United States
military. The
Illinois State Bar Association web site has a summary and overview
of what is currently
available to help service men and women through what might be a very
stressful time.
